The Penthouse Suite is our most luxurious accommodation at Tropical Hideaway and offers absolute privacy and such incredible views that quite simply will take your breath away. Some guests on arrival are so overwhelmed they become speechless.

The Penthouse Suite is entered through you own private reception area just a few steps away from our easy accessible car park and lush tropical gardens. As you walk through the hand carved entrance doors, there is a large and ornate cast iron spiral staircase leading up to the Penthouse Suite. At the top of the stairs you enter your indoor living and bedroom area with arguably the largest and most comfortable bed on the island. Beautifully made mahogany doors and windows compliment the ambience and a large walk-in wardrobe provides ample room for all your clothes. A library of books provide interesting reading for anyone wanting to relax in the white leather chairs and sofa.

Well Equipped Kitchen

The kitchen has a large upright fridge freezer, ice-maker, blender, a Belfast sink unit, 2 burner gas hob, combination microwave oven, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, espresso and coffee maker. A comprehensive range of quality cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery are supplied. The granite top moon bar is furnished with two breakfast stools allowing this lovely area to be used for Al fresco dining as well as an evening sunset bar. Two hanging chairs are the perfect companions for the moon bar and two ‘Captain’ rocking chairs are nearby. An authentic Thai cart wheel coffee table sits centrally under the main Ocean view arch and this is surrounded by a U shaped rattan seating area for up to 10 people. Two sun loungers offer private sunbathing. A large hammock is the perfect finishing touch to an already stunning room. As you look at the plethora of turquoise blues and greens with the whole of Admiralty Bay and the Caribbean Sea in front of you, you cannot fail to be impressed. Sunsets and green flashes can be amazing and the views of the Infinity Pool are just lovely.

The Penthouse Suite has it’s own gas barbecue and close by is a second alfresco dining area complete with a bistro dining set and a wonderful view looking down towards the Infinity Pool and the Caribbean Sea. The Penthouse also has it’s own private gym. A spacious, light and airy room containing a professional quality ‘Life Fitness’ treadmill and Incumbent bike, a ‘Tunturi’ endurance video bike showing the latest training programmes and bike rides, a workout ball, yoga mats, a health rider and a vibration exercise training machine.

In-house entertainment

Both the bedroom and outdoor living area have the latest large flat screen HD Smart TV’s giving access to our in-house entertainment system supplying high definition films, TV, music and Internet radio. USB charging points are supplied and high speed Wi-Fi is available throughout. 

Quality ceiling fans are fitted over the bed and lounge areas and air conditioning is available in the bedroom and indoor living area. Open the door into the shower room and here you have the toilet with the ultimate view. Careful design has allowed this beautiful bathroom to remain totally open yet remain completely private. The large, natural pebble shower has the same panoramic views as the toilet and the bathroom throughout is fitted to the highest of standards. The shower even has a sit down seat. 

The bathroom has a granite top, solid oak vanity unit with ‘His and Her’ designer sinks and a full compliment of organic bathroom toiletries, luxury linens and bath robes.

All indoor living areas and bedrooms are fully screened allowing you the convenience of a mosquito free environment. We take very seriously our guests health and well being and having a screened and mosquito free environment should be an important factor when choosing your holiday accommodation. At Tropical Hideaway you can sleep soundly at night safe in the knowledge that there are no biting insects or mosquito’s in your room.

The very large Infinity edge swimming pool is just a few metres away and is often quoted as being one of the top ten pools in the Caribbean. The Infinity Pool is a stunning feature of the property and with the environmentally friendly solar heating, the pool can be enjoyed at all times of the year. Typically our daytime pool temperatures are around 33 deg C in summer and 29 deg C in winter. That’s an amazing 94 deg F falling to a very inviting 84 deg F in winter. The extra 3 degrees C created by our solar heating can make an enormous difference to your enjoyment of the pool.

Amazing Vacation in Bequia
I returned to Bequia for the first time in about 25 years and booked the penthouse at Tropical Hideaway for my husband's birthday. Booking with Martin and Julie was the best decision! The villa is private and gorgeous. There are only a few apartments, so it is intimate and quiet. The view from the penthouse balcony was breathtaking, which is the same view from the infinity pool (but only higher). The grounds were lovely, the staff even lovelier, and Martin and Julie the loveliest of all. My husband had never been to Bequia, so he was blown away by the island, the people and the villa. Having breakfast on site each morning was perfect, and having the small grocery store on site was so helpful. No need to stand in long lines at the bank to do a money exchange as we Zelled funds to Martin and Julie in advance and our currency exchange was waiting for us on arrival. Since we stayed longer than 7 nights, we had a welcome package waiting for us, including fresh bread, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, cheese, wine, champagne, cookies. Absolutely amazing. We hired Gunno for the week for taxi service, which you will need if you want to eat at different restaurants and explore the island. I highly recommend the curry brunch at Firefly, the seafood buffet at Bequia Beach Club, the lobster pizza at Mac's, and a visit to the local shops in town. We flew from Miami to St. Vincent and then took the ferry to Bequia, where Gunno was waiting to drive us the short distance to the villa. We will be returning to Bequia in 2025 and will absolutely be staying at Tropical Hideaway again. Thank you for such a lovely vacation in such a lovely villa.

ANOTHER fabulous stay at Tropical Hideaway....
Another fantastic two week stay in our favourite place. Bequia really is special. If you want Michelin starred restaurants, an array of designer shops and nightclubs it is definitely NOT for you. If you want a lush tropical island, undeveloped, beautiful beaches, great local food and a couple of bars then you'll love it. And in our opinion, Tropical Hideaway is the best place to stay on the best island.

I leave a review about this place every year, and basically nothing has changed. Martin and Julie maintain the same high standards year after year. All their staff, in particular, Zee and Ann-Marie are lovely, the tropical gardens surrounding TH are beautiful and the infinity pool is wonderful. We stay in the Penthouse, which has truly amazing, constantly changing views, is really comfortable, spotlessly clean and has it's own mini gym! All of the above is why we have already booked our 2026 visit....

Still THE best place to stay on Bequia....
We've been to Bequia seven times and stayed at three other places before we found TH. Now we wouldn't dream of booking anywhere else. Our third visit to Tropical Hideaway this year was just as good as the other two! Year one, we stayed in the Infinity Studio, which was lovely, and literally a couple of steps to the best infinity pool I've ever been in. 2023 and 2024 we stayed in the Penthouse, which is outstanding in every way. Amazing views from the vast balcony, great quality linens, a huge bed, your own mini gym and a massive wall mounted TV on which to watch Martin's ever growing collection of films/TV etc.... I'm so used to saying great things about this wonderful place, but honestly, it never fails to delight. Only advice I would give is to book EARLY. We are time restricted, so we booked our January 2025 stay before we left in Jan 24.... Bequia is a step back in time, and if you want shopping and late nightlife it may not be for you. If however you want a really laid back holiday with good simple food, great unspoilt beaches and lovely people, then you'll love it, and TH is the best accommodation on the island by a very long way. Just don't miss out.

Simply The Best!!
It is difficult to find words that do Tropical Hideaway the justice it deserves. I read many of the reviews before coming here for our honeymoon and I thought "Surely it can't be THAT good?" ...Simply, it is.

Martin and Julie have had the most amazing and interesting lives before they had the vision to build Tropical Hideaway half way up a hill on a little known topical island. There is a book in each room detailing the project from start to finish, it is an exhausting read on its own, never mind living and breathing it for real! We stayed in the Penthouse, spotlessly clean and tidy. A really useful 'welcome pack' awaited our arrival. Prepping food outside with "that" view wasn't a chore in the slightest. Because it was so great we only ventured out twice, once to check out the beaches and town (nice lunch at Jack's Bar) and once to to a day trip to Mustique on the 'Gusto' trimaran (recommended).

After eight days of floating in the pool with a beer (or two!) or a glass of Whispering Angel we simply didn't want to leave... but the honeymoon continued at the Sandy Lane in Barbados, one of the best hotels in the world and arguably the very best in the entire Caribbean. The Sandy Lane is an entirely different experience to Tropical Hideaway and the two cannot really be compared but we honestly preferred our time on Bequia. Will we come back? Absolutely. In a heartbeat. I would give six stars if I could. Thank you Martin, thank you Julie.
