Not only is Bequia blessed with perfect weather and beautiful white sandy beaches, we are also very fortunate to have several Internationally renowned restaurants and many more which we would rate as being extremely good and very good value for money. Enjoy freshly cooked Roti’s (a traditional Caribbean pasty filled with vegetables, curried meat or fish) to the ultimate live lobster cooked to your very own personal liking. Bequia has an amazing range of culinary delights to suit all tastes and budgets. From a local jump up barbecue to an away from it all romantic dinner for 2, from a buffet dining experience with an authentic steel band playing in the background, to a fun filled evening eating inexpensive food and dancing the night away to one of our many local bands. Yes Bequia is very lucky to have several enthusiastic bands playing a mix of Soca, Reggae and Rock.
You can visit a different bar and dine at a different restaurant every night of the week. Visit the most local of local bars and always feel safe and welcome. Chat with the friendly locals and enjoy Bequia’s unique mix of culture and diversity that will always surprise and will never disappoint.
There are around 30 restaurants on the island and many small bars also serve food. Local food vendors have barbecue lunches with local provisions, offering exceptional value for money. Around midday you can usually find several places in town serving lovely authentic food for as little as $15 EC.
To avoid disappointment, it is probably best to reserve your table at the more popular restaurants especially during the busier time of year between December and April.
The lobster season runs from 1st September through to 1st May although river lobster can still be served during other times.
During September and October some restaurants are closed and a few other restaurants may also close for a few weeks during the summer months.
